How to order a PCB from JLCPCB, step by step
In short
Export Gerbers, a JLC-format BOM and CPL; choose the board options; turn on assembly; check part matching and rotations; combine with printed parts. The two checks that matter most are polarity and footprints.
1. Export the right files
Gerbers and drill files in one zip, a BOM with Comment, Designator, Footprint and LCSC part number, and a CPL with positions and rotations. Daedalus generates all three from the same design.
2. Choose the board options
For most hobby boards: 2 layers, FR-4, 1.6 mm, HASL lead-free. Order five; it costs about the same as one.
3. Turn on assembly
Economic assembly covers most parts on one side. Through-hole parts such as jacks and potentiometers are often cheaper to solder yourself.
4. Check matching and rotation
Look at every polarised part in the preview: diodes, electrolytic capacitors, USB-C connectors. A wrong rotation is the most common reason for a respin.
