The idea
The maker had a Nextion touch screen, a few Wemos boards and an old telegraph key. The goal: a device that teaches Morse step by step, keeps progress per user and lets two devices play against each other.
What Daedalus produced
Electronics
KiCad schematic and 2-layer PCB, ERC and DRC clean
Firmware
PlatformIO project: keyer, lessons, games, ESP-NOW
Display
9 screens designed in Figma, mapped to Nextion
Enclosure
Parametric two-part case, STEP and STL
BOM
28 lines, classified, 2 owned parts
Order package
JLCPCB, PCBWay and Eurocircuits options
What the red team found
display pin order
TX and RX were not verified against the Nextion cable. Fixed: pinout from the datasheet, printed on the silkscreen.
weak USB supply
Audio and radio peaks could reset the MCU. Fixed: bulk capacitor, 2 A supply in the build guide, volume limit in firmware.
old key contacts
Oxidised contacts read as false dots. Fixed: key-test screen and a cleaning step in the build guide.
Build it yourself
Use this design as a template. Swap the display, change the enclosure or add a battery — the agent updates the BOM, the checks and the order package for you.
